Our take: The SRC CompSpec M16A3 Full Size Carbine is a high performance metal gearbox AEG rifle that has an extended M16-length barrel, allowing it to shoot with a bit more power and accuracy than more compact carbine-style rifles. It is also extremely durable and realistic, and features a full metal gearbox, a high-performance cylinder crafted from aluminum, and a high torque motor. And best of all, it is the ONLY Taiwan-made metal gearbox M16A3 AEG rifle on the market for UNDER $180, and is available EXCLUSIVELY at Airsoft Megastore.
This M16 has a full rear stock, allowing it to store and use large-type batteries (which typically hold up to 3x the charge of smaller batteries). The carry handle is removable (revealing a receiver-top rail on which you can mount optics). The full stock is pre-wired to accept BOTH mini-type AND large-type batteries, as it has a standard mini-type plug w/ a large-type adapter INCLUDED straight from the factory.
One of the most unique features about the SRC M16A3 is its receiver. Unlike older ABS receivers such as receivers found on Tokyo Marui AEGs, the SRC M16A3 has a fiber polymer reinforced ABS receiver, which means a higher level of build quality and more significantly, DURABILITY, all-around. The receiver features a higher density than most standard receivers, and as a result, is more durable and less prone to cracking or breaking due to an inadvertent drop or collision.
With an extended length barrel, the M16A3 is extremely proficient at firing off high-velocity, high-accuracy shots to render opponents with shorter weapons defenseless against the M16A3's tremendous range.

Battery Charger Recommendation: This AEG DOES NOT come with a battery or charger. Although this fully automatic airsoft rifle can use standard wall charger to charge the battery, Airsoft Megastore recommends the use of a smart charger to avoid overcharging the battery(overcharged batteries may cause decreased airsoft gun performance and may shorten battery life significantly). Smart chargers not only shorten charge time significantly (up to 800% faster charging), but more importantly,also automatically shut off once the battery is fully charged to avoid overcharged batteries.
Note: Battery and charger are NOT included, as is the case with most SRC-manufactured AEGs. For the best value and performance, we recommend getting a 8.4v large battery or 8.4v mini battery and a universal smart charger.
